November Reminder

Please check the updated schedule of November in Schedule. Note that Nov-12 Saturday meeting is canceled due to Mission Conference.

2011 Inter-Fellowship Tournament successfully concluded on Oct-29-2011. TTOF Saturday meetings in November are back to normal at 5-10pm with potluck dinner at 6:30pm.

2011 Fall Harvest Festival was successfully done on Oct-31-2011 Monday (6-8pm). This is a Halloween-alternative event, sponsored by CBCGB. (See pictures here)

As winter is approaching with snow on the street, a new rule is added to “Rules & Guidelines“, as follow:
Please take off your street shoes or snow boots which causes dark colored scratches and streaks on the floor. We often receive complaints from the cleaning service mostly about this problem.

“Dr. Cai MaoTang is a physician and also a pastor, from Changhua, Taiwan. In 1975 he graduated at the top position from National Taiwan University Medical School. He was formerly a psychiatrist at National Taiwan University Hospital; Superintendent of Hengchun Christian Hospital; Director General of Luke Mission; Senior Pastor at Dong-An TaiFu Christian Church; Senior Pastor of Chicago TaiFu Christian Church.

In 2002, He received a PhD Intercultural Study from Trinity International University. He went back to Taipei, Taiwan in January 2005 and currently the senior pastor of PeacePresbyterian Church.

In 1977, he was married to Miss Xu Xinzhen, graduated from the ShiDa Shejiao Xi, bringing up two boys and a girl.The biggest hope for Cai family is to personally experience and share the incomparable love of Jesus Christ.”

Monthly Reminder for August

We are announcing the new youth tournament as follow:

Event: TTOF-YLT (Youth League Tournament) (Invitation Only)

Date: Sep-03-2011 Saturday   Time: 9:30am to 5pm

Registration Fee: $10  Deadline: Aug-27-2011  (Please download registration form and follow instruction)

2011 Youth Summer Program was held successfully on July-22 Friday & Jul-23 Saturday from 9:30am to 4pm. 32 children participated on the first day, and 36 on the second day. We are very grateful and thankful  for those dedicated volunteers and coordinators  (about 30) that helped out running the program. Please see YSP page for program activities.

Table tennis is NOT only for youth, but also for seniors like 92-years old Alzheimer & Dementia patient as a therapy according to LA Times.

Food Drive Month for Homeless Shelters

Please visit the schedule for the month of April.

In coming April meetings, TTOF will join Social Concern Mission (one of our church missions) to participate in the “Food Drive for Homeless Shelter“. During the Thursday and Saturday meetings, there will be a container in the hallway to collect many different types of non-perishable food (listed in the guide line below).  The collected items will later be delivered to the Greater Boston Food Bank at the end of this period.

Dates of Collection Period: Apr-7 Thurs, Apr-9 Sat, Apr-14 Thurs, Apr-16 Sat, and Apr-21 Thurs.

Short list of most desired food items

  • Dairy: Milk – dried, evaporated, and boxed (such as Parmalat)
  • Protein: Beef stew, nuts, peanut butter, beans, and peas (dried or canned), chili, tuna fish, chicken, salmon (canned)
  • Vegetables: Tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, vegetables (canned), tomato juice
  • Fruit: Raisins and other dried fruit, applesauce, any canned fruit in its own juice
  • Grains: Crackers, oatmeal, whole grain rice, all types of pasta, ready to eat low sugar/high fiber cereal (Cheerios, Raisin Bran, etc.)

General guidelines for donations from food drives

  • We accept all non-perishable (not frozen or refrigerated), sealed, unexpired food
  • We also accept unopened toiletries (shampoo, soap, shaving cream, etc.) that should be kept separate from any food donation
  • We prefer non-glass containers for the safety of our volunteers
  • We have some tolerance for expired foods but they must be no more than 3 months past expiration
  • We cannot accept baby food or pet food from a food drive
